Instructions for lab members:
1. In addition to our own servers, our group has access to the HTC machine hosted in the Center for Research Computing (CRC) at Pitt with limited computing hours. The HTC cluster has comprehensive bioinformatics pipelines installed and constantly updated. Students please run daily routine data analysis and simulations on our own servers but utilize the HTC machine only for NGS or bioinformatics related projects.
2. Sequencing raw data from collaborators should be backed up to the storage servers (SpeedBackup) as soon as they are received. Contact the lab server coordinator(s) to confirm instructions and details.
3. In early January of each year, please remember to check your hard drive usage in each server and clean up unnecessary files. This is an important practice to leave storage for other needed members.
4. Lab coordinator for the HTC machine is Wenjia Wang and lab coordinator for our own computing servers is Ruofei Yin and Sarah Wang.
